The Story of my experiments with truth-


"The story of my experiments with truth" is an autobiography of M ahatma Gandhi and is one of the best writings of Mahatma Gandhi. The autobiography was written in weekly installments and was published in his journal "Navjivan" from 1925 to 1929 in Gujarati  language. Later the English translations of his autobiography was also published in installments in his another journal "Young India".

"The story of my experiments with truth" also was included in " 100 Best spiritual books of the 20th century". In his autobiography, Mahatma Gandhi tells about his childhood, his relations with his parents, his early childhood marriage and his relation with his wife, he shared his experiences at the school , his study tour to London, his going to South Africa, his experiences of colour prejudice, social work in Africa, returning to India and his work for political awakening and social activities. 

The introduction of the book states the start of him writing his autobiography , he tells why he was a bit late to finish writing his autobiography. he also introduced one of his fellow prisoner, who asked to him to put everything aside and finish writing the autobiography.
After this he explained about his family and their caste. He also stated about his childhood and school life in Porbandar. Then, he tells about his childhood marriage and his role of the " husband ", about his wife, Kasturba Gandhi and his relations with her.he also tells about the demise of his father , he also shared his experiments with eating meat, smoking, drinking, and stealing.
 
In the part 2 of his autobiography he tells about his journey in South Africa and about facing racial prejudice, his struggle against inequality and racial discrimination in South Africa an when he became known among all Indians around the World as " Mahatma ", or " Great Soul ".

In the part 3 of his autobiography, he tells about his return to India and meeting his wife and children his part in social and political activities. His visit to South Africa again . him becoming the first Indian to appear before a magistrate for his refusal to register and he also tells about his 2 months in the prison.

In the part 4 of his autobiography, he tells about the first world war and his health issues , the talks about ' The Rowlatt Act " and his opinion about it, he tells about the Non-Cooperation movement and the Chauri Chaura incident.

In the part 5 of his autobiography, he tella about his experience in prison and writing most of his autobiography in the prison , spinning a " Charkha ", the end of his imprisonment, " The Khilafat Movement " and also tells about the role of ," The Indian National Congress " to bring Hindi-Muslim together.

In the Farewell part of his autobiography he ends his words with the request to join him in prayer to God of Truththat he may grant him the boon of Ahimsa in mind, work and deed.
This was the best book written by Mahatma Gandhi with such great thoughts and motivation for all of us. It taught us the real meaning and importance of Ahimsa ( non-violence )
